These fabric gift bags are great for giving out small gifts at the office (fill them with homemade cookies or chocolates), as party favors (small toys for the kids), hostess gifts (gourmet cooking spices, potpourri, small candles), friend gifts (make-up, nail polish, jewelry), sick friend care package (cough drops, individual packets of hot chocolate, mini marshmallows) and so much more.
They are so quick and easy that you could even make them for wedding favors when you need 100+. Because they have a flat bottom, they stand up straight even when they are empty.
You don’t need to use stabilizer when you stitch these bags – just fuse two pieces of cotton together back-to-back with a fusible webbing (such as StitchWitchery or WonderWeb) and hoop the fused piece. The fusible web (or interfacing) also prevents fraying of the cotton at the edges.
The bags are each stitched in a single hooping, all in one piece, with 4 color stops and fewer than 3,000 stitches. They are assembled by folding the stitched bag and closing the side and bottom with a line of hot glue.
The set includes five different sizes: 5x7, 6x8, 6x10, 8x10, 8x14. The smallest bag fits two nail polish jars and the largest will fit a thick paperback novel. See pictures for additional size details.
Please note these are machine embroidery in the hoop (ITH) designs, not sewing patterns, and they can only be used with an embroidery machine.
