5x7 & 6x10

Hip Pouch

One pattern, endless possibilities!

*** this pattern has been updated to include a 5x7 sideways version and a 6x10 version to hold those big phones***

This stylish hip pouch has two front pockets (one zipper, one snap tab) and an optional large back pocket with snap tab to secure it.  The pouches can easily be made convertible - they can go from waist pouches to cross body bags depending on your outfit.  Several of the options are made to attach directly to a belt or to belt loops - great for a dog walk, jaunt to town, or evening out when you don't need to carry a full purse.

This design fits in the 5x7 hoop, has 2000 stitches, and it can be completed in under 30 minutes (not including fabric selection and cutting).  It uses the stitch-and-flip method for applying the fabric so you only need to remove the hoop 2 times - once to add the back of the zip pocket interior and once to trim the pieces before the back is added.

The basic pattern can be made in a single hooping with quilters-weight cotton with ribbon loops- when its finished stitching, cut it out, turn it right-side-out, stitch up the 2" hole, add a couple of Kam snaps, and it's done.  It has one zipper pocket and another open front pocket that can be snapped shut.  The pouch also comes with the option for a large back pocket - especially good for really big phones.

And this design also comes with an additional 3 files for a variety of tab options for the 4x4 and 5x7 hoop which can be used to customize it. These additional parts are stitched in advance (they are all single color and less than 1000 each) and added during the stitching of the bag (detailed instructions are included). You can also swap out some of the fabric pieces in the main pattern for vinyl to give the pouch a different look and feel.

Please note these are machine embroidery in the hoop (ITH) designs, not sewing patterns, and they can only be used with an embroidery machine.
