5x7 & 6x10

Halloween Coffin

Another quick and easy felt Halloween project!  This fun coffin candy dish stitches in either a single 5x7 or 6x10 hoop or in two quick 5x7 hoops (for the largest size).  It is created on a piece of stiff felt (or you can stiffen regular felt before or after stitching the design - instructions are included).

There are a total of nine coffins in this set:

- three small one's for the 5x7 hoop (one hooping - final finished size about 1.7" wide x 3.25" long x 1" tall);

- three medium one's for the 6x10 hoop (one hooping - final finished size about 2" wide x 4" long x 1.2" tall);

- three large one's for the 5x7 hoop (two hoopings - final finished size about 3" wide x 5" long x 1.4" tall).

Each coffin has three color stops and stitches in two pieces - the base and the lid; after it is stitched, the coffin is cut out of the felt and assembled using hot glue along the tabs.  The coffins also have a luxurious optional fabric lining for the interior of the base and lid with some 'tufting' stitches in the base.  Each coffin has between 2000 and 4200 stitches.

They can also be embellished with brads during the stitching process - I added a green jewel to the grey coffin and a silver and pearl brad to the red one - the prongs are hidden behind the lining) or with hotfix crystals after they are finished stitching.

Please note this is a machine embroidery in the hoop (ITH) design, not a sewing pattern, and it can only be used with an embroidery machine.
